“According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate beings, condemning them to spend the rest of their lives in search of their other halves.” – Plato’s The Symposium
There are a lot of people out there who don’t buy into the concept of soul mates. Maybe we each have a soul mate, maybe we don’t. All I know is it’s hard to deny it when you meet couples like Vivian and Jon. Two people so obviously more comfortable in their skin with fingers intertwined then when separated. I kept thinking of the Greek myth mentioned above on Vivian and Jon’s wedding day and how it didn’t seem improbable at all that they were meant to find each other and when they did they found they were a perfect fit… two halves that just gravitated back to one another to make one whole.
Big thanks to all the fantastic vendors we had the pleasure of working with at Vivian and Jon’s wedding. First of all the lovely Pamela of PDR Events and New England Invitations not only for the planning and coordination but also for the beautiful invitations and paper products. Shout out to Pamela’s mom too for her help and for being such a sweet lady! The gorgeous yellow and blue flowers were done by our friend Sayles of Sayles Livingston Flowers. The very talented Kerri of Sweet Indulgence provided the delicious cake. And lastly, the band …Sweet Tooth and the Sugar Babies killed it as usual!
We are so lucky to work with the BEST vendors in Rhode Island. I think it’s high time some of these hard working people got a little public love. Therefore, I’ve decided to institute the “VENDORS WE LOVE” Award, given when exceptional vendor awesomeness is shown. The very first recipient of the Snap “VENDORS WE LOVE” Award is going out to… Sweet Tooth and the Sugar Babies. I mean, it’s 4pm in the afternoon in the photo below and just look at the people getting their groove on! This is a miracle photo for several reasons.
Reason #1… It’s 4:oclock in the afternoon. Who in their right mind wants their dance moves so nakedly displayed in the bright light of day? Most people won’t hit the dance floor until it’s dark and they’re a little drunk. These people do not care! They are getting a “little bit lower now” and time/ambient light is of no consequence! Why? Because Sweet Tooth and the Sugar Babies are that good.
Reason #2… The people pictured in the photo below had just finished a big plate of prime rib and a giant slice of wedding cake, yet they are still “shouting” and “twisting” like there is no tomorrow. Why? Because Sweet Tooth and the Sugar Babies are that good.
Reason #3…Sweet Tooth and the Sugar Babies will preform feats of acrobatic excellence and sing in a prone position all for your listening pleasure and general amusement and they sound good doing it! Why? Because Sweet Tooth and the Sugar Babies are that good.
So congratulations to Sweet Tooth and the Sugar Babies for their vendor awesomeness. They battled daylight, prime rib, and wedding cake with their enthusiasm and made it a party to remember! Applause Applause.
Mariah and Trish, these look incredible! Thanks for taking lovely photos and also for always helping to keep the mood light and relaxed. We loved working with you both and can’t wait to see the full set of pictures.
