This blog post is a how to about designing a timeless, romantic, Blithewold Mansion Wedding ~ By Nicole and Frank 🙂
I’ve heard so many people describe these style elements as the theme for their wedding, but Frank and Nicole really nailed it!
They planned a perfectly classic, timeless, romantic day! They did not however, plan for rain.
Luckily, the rain cleared out and the dramatic skies left behind only added to the moody, romance factor.
Nicole and the ladies sharing a Mimosa toast. Mimosas are always a good idea.
Nicole’s romantic bridal look was created by New Leaf Hair Studio.
Frank looking very dapper in his bow-tie.
Pretty bridal details.

Meanwhile, a classic portrait of the men in the Billiards room.
The soft light and the rain made all the colors of Blithewold pop!
Frank and Nicole love the Moon Gate, so we chose it as their first look location.
Shout out to Evan and Chad at Frame and Anchor who shot video along side us and are always so great about coordinating so we don’t get in each other’s shot.
Frank was overcome with love for Nicole … Natch’.
Lush.
Stunning! Nicole, you are radiant!

I spy … somethin’ blue 🙂
Continuing with our romantic theme…
Soft feminine florals by Sayles Livingston Design.
The veranda was the perfect place for the formal photos so the ladies did not have to sink into the wet lawn. Also the light was ah-mazing.
There are a lot of factors to consider when choosing the location for the formal pictures.
First and foremost in our mind is the comfort of our clients. Is it too hot? … i.e. Melting groomsmen. Is it too windy? … i.e. The bride’s hair is a hot mess.
The next consideration is the lighting. Is it too sunny? … i.e. Everyone is squinting plus they all have raccoon eyes.
The last consideration is the the background. … i.e. Is it clean, uncluttered, and neutral?
Non-professionals often skip the first two steps and look for the coolest background first. This is a problem when you are trying to create flattering portraits! Sure the water in the background looks great, but if the mother of the bride doesn’t look good- ain’t nobody gonna want those photos! Just sayin’.
This is our homage to Nicole’s beautiful grandmother who unfortunately passed away after her wedding.
We’re so honored we got to take this lovely generational photo.
It’s the little things!
One thing I really love about Blithwewold is how the escort cards are set up in this “secret” garden room. We usually manage to photograph them before the guests take them AND the bride usually gets to see them all set up!
I spy… Nicole and Frank’s engagement Session Guest Book!
I love how Nicole and Frank’s design elements blend seamlessly with the natural elements of the venue.
Double cuteness and double trouble!
Waiting for the go ahead from Karen, Blithewold’s resident ceremony expert.
Go time!
Frank is overcome with love … Again… Natch’.
Frank is the sweetest person. He’s attentive and kind. Be more like Frank.
This is Nicole and Frank’s French Bulldog, Milo the Cream Puff. Hee-hee. That’s his actual name.
The rain made everything look like a movie set.
The I Do’s for the Do’s. Anyone see what I did there?
Cheers! You’re Married!
Cream Puff Portrait Sesh.
Sneaky Romance.
Bithewold at it’s best.

The caterer was Blackstone. Yummm!
Guests streaming! You know we love to get this shot!
Nice of the rain to hold off until it was time to go into the tent!
First dance, Frank struttin’ his stuff y’all.
Sweet toast … Frank is overcome, numero tres. So cute!
Frank and Nicole visited all of their tables and toasted with everyone. I’ve never seen a couple do that, it was so fun and festive! Plus- great candids!
If you have ideas about doing table shots, this is the way to go! Candid!
Adorbs, no cake smashing here people. Frank would never. Be like Frank.
Oh my. LOL.
Unfortunately it’s that time…. but ….
… we’re taking this romance train right to the end of the line!
XOXO Nicole and Frank! We loved being a part of your cream puff wedding day! 🙂 LOL
