Coastal Palette Wedding

March 4, 2020

When Your Aunt is famed RI florist Semia of Flowers by Semia…

Floral Magic Happens

Kelsey and Roland’s wedding is just too pretty for words. Soft whites, greens, blues, and lots of natural elements created a coastal palette for their Newport wedding at Belle Mer. We were so honored that Kelsey’s aunt, Semia, pointed her in our direction when she was looking for a wedding photographer. How lucky were we to be on hand to capture this floral wedding wonderland?!

The day started at the Atlantic resort (appropriate location for a coastal palette wedding) where Kelsey and Co. were getting ready.

Kelsey looked so gorgeous! She has such lovely skin, sparkly eyes, and look at those pearly whites (she’s an orthodontist LOL).

The Flowers By Semia Team arriving for the unveiling of the bridal bouquet. Always a big moment, but even more so when your aunt’s team created it!

Semia gave Kelsey a bouquet tutorial. Wielding a FBS bouquet is more complicated then you’d think – they are infamous for being “extra.”

Stunning Ladies … or …

… total goofballs? The answer is yes, both. 🙂

We took a few pre-ceremony informal formals. I want to thank the wall in this room for cooperating with the coastal palette theme. That’s Semia (upper right) muscling in for photos. Floral photo-bomber! Hee-hee!

Seriously, these colors are so relaxing. Not to mention, these ladies are stunning.

Holy beautiful bride and bouquet!

Too sweet moment between the bride and her girls.

Subtle reminder, Kelsey. Ha-ha, something tells me Roland would not be late to marry you though.

It’s getting handsome up in here.

Mandids (that’s man-candids) for you lay-people.

Something special for the groom too.

Looking very sharp, and very respectable, and very ON TIME.

Look who’s breezing into the ceremony at St. Joseph’s.

Nephew and uncle waiting patiently.

Kelsey’s momma walked her down the aisle. They’re very close, it’s really special. 🙂 Two strong, successful, amazing ladies. Our kind of gals.

A little ceremony drama for you.

The vows.

The crowns.

Married!

And we’re off for photos!

When you’re having a coastal palette wedding, where do you go for photos? Hmm, how about this dramatic coastal spot, Ledge Road?

Doesn’t get much more coastal than this. I think we’re definitely still on brand here.

Next we hopped over to Brenton Point for the family and bridal party photos. It was a tick windy and a bit bright, but we persevered for some really pretty, summery shots.

Semia, the floral mermaid goddess and her bouquet of coastal goodness.

Kelsey and Roland have quality friends and a loving family. This is truly a stellar group of people.

Raise your bouquets! We’re off to the party, people!

Arriving at Belle Mer and stealing a moment and a kiss before the fun of phase four – the cocktail hour.

One good thing about a windy day, the sailboats are all out!

Sassy and Classy.

Longwood – the yummy food never disappoints.

This photo is hilarious. Classic, Kelsey and Roland. The couple that slurps together, stays together.

This is what we do during cocktail hour- guest photos! Well, okay, this is what Trish does during cocktail hour. She’s kind of the group photo queen.

Meanwhile- I am the detail queen. Love this unique escort card idea.

It’s time for the ballroom unveiling! Kelsey had no idea what the reception was going to look like, she left all of the details up to the expert, Semia.

That trust is about to pay off … big time.

This woman is insanely talented, I just hope she never takes up photography and puts us out of business!

If she was even half as good at photography as she is at floral design, we’d be in trouble. This sweetheart table was insane.

Every petal and every detail was special.

I mean, come on. The big things were amazing …

… and the small things were too.

I could have spent hours shooting the ballroom, but …

there was a sunset to capture.

Oh, so good!

A little welcome toast by the MOH to kick off the festivities.

Party Time. Our fave band, Flipside was in the house!

Love it when the bride and groom open the dance floor right away- it sets the tone for fun. A nice sunset in the background doesn’t hurt either.

Besties with nice things to say 🙂

How to cut your cake 101. Pose, cut, kiss. Perfect-o!

Cheers to the beautiful bride.

Family Dance Party!

This wedding was loving perfection down to the very last details.

Kelsey and Roland, we wish you a lifetime of perfect evenings!

XOXO Mariah and Trish
