Wondering where Spring went? You just found it.
Sorry not Sari that Faizeen and Mike had the only sunny day all month 🙂
Photos by Mariah and Trish: Owner Team
Faizeen and Mike scored the only sunny day all month for their April wedding at Belle Mer. Not only was it sunny; but there were brilliant blue skies, zero winds, and warm temps. It was a real gift from mother nature, and it couldn’t have been bestowed on two more deserving people.
Faizeen wore a gorgeous pink and gold sari. Her mother traveled to Bangladesh to pick it up. Faizeen told me that fire-engine red is the traditional color, but that was a bit of a stretch for her considering she always wears black.
It took quite a while to get Faizeen properly wrapped in her sari; unfortunately it does not come with a set of instructions! Faizeen’s mom said you learn to wrap from your elders, and you can’t be in a rush to get somewhere when you have a sari to wrap.
The veil was another feat of attachement! It’s as heavy as it is detailed! The stylists weren’t sure how to secure it to Faizeen’s head because it didn’t come with a comb sewn in. It was touch and go for ten minutes or so… but impressively- they came up with a great solution.
I really love this bridal prep photo, I shot it through a chandelier hanging over the dining room table. You can never have enough sparkle.
Meanwhile, Mike was figuring out how to tie the perfect groom knot.
Lookin’ dapper Mike!
Mike’s dad straightening him out. 🙂
Faizeen’s mom straightening her out too. LOL
Just a little groom contemplation before the first look.
How about those blue-skies? How about Mike’s smile?!
We like the way the ivy wall looks this time of year.
Do you think anyone expects a day like this one for an April wedding at Belle Mer? It was better than anyone could have dreamed… including the photographers!
Sweethearts XOXO
Faizeen is so pretty! Pink looks good on you Faiz! Maybe blend some of it into that all-black closet of yours!
Happy families really warm our hearts.
See? Spring really has sprung!
I talked to a bride recently who told me she really loves to see pictures of the guests, and feels like that’s something a lot of photographers don’t post. I agree! It’s great to see your guests arriving, socializing, dancing etc!
Especially when your guests are this well dressed!
The second floor of the Island House is such a great place to hang out before the ceremony!
Love this photo trish took of Faiz and her mom in the mirror.
Go time!
Faizeen and Mike’s vows were incredible! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I’m paraphrasing, but Faiz said – she always kept a little distance between herself and others. Her friends often teased her about her awkward hugs! When she met Mike, she knew who that space had been saved for. Mike makes her want to be warmer and closer.
Aw, that’s the sweetest!
Such a cute pic of Mike’s niece and sister!
Mike said he met Faiz at a time when he was rebuilding his life. He told a story about Hill (Faiz’s mom) asking him why he liked her daughter. At the time, he told her, “because she’s beautiful,” stumbling on the words to really describe how he felt abut Faizeen.
He addressed Hill at the ceremony to tell her the real reasons; “Because she loves her family and friends, she like to work out with me and to travel, but she’s happy watching TV together too. She loves good food. She’s always well dressed. I look better when standing next to her. She makes me so happy.”
I think Hill approves of those reasons!
The photo on the right is STRAIGHT-UP-ROMANCE!
Faiz… you’re the cutest.
Happy to be Mr. and Mrs.
Faizeen and Mike had the best wedding hashtag – #faizthemikeisyours CLEVER!
Mmmmm! So many yummies! Faizeen and Mike had their cocktail hour at the Island House and the reception in the Water Salon. It was so nice to shoot on both sides of the property.
It was spring in the ballroom too!
Faizeen and Mike did not see Belle Mer in person until the day before the wedding. Yes, you heard that right! They’re reaction? “OOOH, this is pretty!”
They put all their trust into Faiz’s parents to plan the perfect April wedding at Belle Mer. Their gamble paid off!
Side Note: Faizeen told us her father had been planning her wedding since she was twelve! Too funny!
They had to wait for the perfect groom…
… and now… the perfect sunset.
Love everything about this glowy photo!
This family knows how to make an entrance.
Look at all of those happy party-goers!
Party Time!
Putting some muscle into the bouquet toss…
