A Midsummer Night’s Dream Wedding at Castle Hill

June 26, 2019

“So we grew together,
Like to a double cherry, seeming parted,
But yet an union in partition,
Two lovely berries moulded on one stem.”

~ William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Photography by Cloud and Linda: Associate Team

What images do a Midsummer Night’s Dream wedding at Castle Hill conjure for you? Verdant Forests, Star-Crossed Lovers, Fairies and Magic? Although there weren’t any fairies at the Andreas and Brooke’s wedding, there were plenty of lovers, lots of magic, and lovely woodland photos. I’d say the dream-theme was fulfilled!

Act 1: Getting Ready

Cloud photographed the ladies getting ready at one of the beach cottages. There was a lot of sparkle sparkling. Brooke’s gown is a Pnina Tornai.

No fairies in sight, but there was one goddess.

One goddess and her entourage of eleven beautiful friends and stunning MOB.

Ah, the dressing without flashing struggle is real…

Serious glamour happening.

As you can see, the apple did not fall from the beauty tree.

The bridesmaids stuffing the bride into her chariot.

Conjuring that Midsummer spirit.

Amazing bouquet by Stoneblossom.

Portrait of Brooke and her brother, who played the bagpipe for the processional and recessional.

Meanwhile, Linda photographed Andreas getting ready in the Chalet.

When in doubt about tying your bowtie, consult YouTube. Classic Groomsman move, lol.

Love this dramatic portrait Linda captured of Andreas. The lighting is ah-mazing.

Midsummer’s men.

Act 2: The Ceremony

“My soul is in the sky.”

~ William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The view from the ceremony site … perfection.

Waiting for Hermia, I mean … Brooke.

Aw, so cute!

Brooke, making Andreas her Mr.

Romantical. Love the arbor florals!

A grand exit! On to intermission … er, cocktail hour!

Revelry!

Act 3: The Formals

A few family and bridal party photos in the cool, shady garden before heading out to the lighthouse …

“Lord, what fools these mortals be!”
~William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.”

~William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

It was a bit windy… but Linda and Cloud made it work.

How about that late afternoon light? Romance factor: 10!

Act 4: The Details

Stoneblossom, you did Shakespeare proud.

“Are you sure/That we are awake? It seems to me/That yet we sleep, we dream”
~ William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Act 5: Making Merry

“Here come the lovers, full of joy and mirth.— Joy, gentle friends! joy and fresh days of love Accompany your hearts!”
~William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

A welcome toast from the MOB.

Some funny words from the Best Man.

A brief pause from the reception fun to capture the sunset… it’s not a Midsummer Night’s Dream wedding at Castle Hill without a romantic sunset.

Sweeties. Love this cake!

Act 6: The Finale

The perfect end to this love story and the perfect send off for these to Midsummer’s night sweethearts.

“Love’s stories written in love’s richest books.
To fan the moonbeams from his sleeping eyes.”
~ William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream
