I know that most stores have their Chrsitmas directions out but I for one am not ready to give up on Fall. Thank goodness I have Nicole and Kevin’s Sweet Berry Farm Engagement Session to look at! Have you ever been to Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown RI? If not- go NOW! They are open until December 31st. It’s a magical place, a real fall fun festival! The apple orchard and pumpkin patch are open now for picking. Christmas tree tagging is happening as well. At other times of the year they also have pick your own strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, sunflowers, and peaches! There’s a general store with homemade pies, cakes, breads and fun provisions. There’s also a cafe with warm soup, sandwiches and salads. It’s a great place for a leisurely Sunday, but an even better place for an engagement session!
Nicole and Kevin wanted something rustic and farm-ish for their shoot so I suggested Sweet Berry, knowing full well of course that it meant yummy snacks and a fresh pie for me when I was done.
We started out with a little romance amongst the cornstalks! I love the way the wind is blowing the stalks.
Channeling American Gothic, only not quite as Gothic…What’s left of the pick your own flowers, such a pretty spot for a portrait! There’s something so pleasing about long rows of crops, in this case sunflowers. Romance in the rows…The scenery is amazing but it’s important not to forget a classic shot too. A little cream colored pumpkin was the perfect perch for Nicole’s lovely engagement ring. Nicole is quite the hand model. She told me she really enjoyed all the pampering leading up to the shoot; manicures, hair styling, makeup, new clothes etc. She’s a grad student and there is usually NO pampering involved in her daily routine! Pampering looks good on you Nicole! This is the one! Love this photo taken while peeping through the apple trees. Print it, Frame it, Hang it. Heirloom. Done. Fun with pumpkins.Nicole and Kevin have known each other since high school. So sweet.Kevin who was a little unsure about this whole engagement session photo shoot thing, seems to have warmed up to the idea. I think the men typically don’t realize there’s going to be a lot of authorized canoodling. I think they’d be way more excited about the idea if they knew.Case in point…for BEHIND THE SNAPS WITH THE SNAP GIRLS
We always ask our couples to hold hands and take a walk, then when they are feeling it to “give it a little romance!”
Kevin seems quite pleased with his romancing here!
One of my favorite things to show BEHIND THE SNAPS is what a location looked like to the eye verses what I saw and the photo that resulted. This is a great example of going where the good light is. In this case it happens to be in between two motorcycles, a pile of trash, a tractor and a dumpster! The photo on the left is what I saw and the photo on the right Trish snapped with the iphone. Nicole is a confessed big time snap blog fan. We LOVE being appreciated, so we always love to hear that!
We also loved spending time with our little fan and getting to know her and her Prince Charming. Nicole and Kevin are down to earth, interesting, kind, and up for adventuring with the snap girls.
Now who’s the fan? XO
Can’t wait for their Glen Manor wedding in August!Leave the Royal Highnesses some love below! Or… off with your head!
