GETTING READY
Meredith and Evan threw an epic, not to mention classic, Newport Wedding at Belle Mer. We started the day with getting ready photos at Gurney’s.
I like to begin by photographing the invitation suite. A wedding planner once told me that since the invitations are the first thing a couple chooses, they often set the tone for the wedding. Meredith and Evan’s invitations were designed by Wouldn’t It Be Lovely. Love me a velvet ring box too!
Meredith’s gown was designed by Suzanne Neville, and her shoes are Renee Caovilla. I think that veil is a real show stopper though!
Time permitting, we love to get a fresh portrait of the bride before the first look. Meredith’s makeup was done Jenifer Viveiros, and her hair was done by Allison Barbera Beauty.
Meredith’s bouquet is by Michelle Jeanne Floral Design.
First Look and Formal Portraits at The Marble House
This veil needed an elegant backdrop. LOL
Formal Portraits
About half way through our portraits, a gust of cold air blew in. Then, the gust got stronger, the leaves blew in, and the clouds grew increasingly dark. The wedding party decided to play it safe and break out their umbrellas. As soon as the umbrellas went up, the rain and HAIL came down! Photos sesh – over!
Reconvening at Belle Mer
Everyone made it to Belle Mer, safe and sound and most importantly, DRY! Luckily, the staircase is a gorgeous spot for family formals.
We also utilized the light, bright space upstairs for a few more casual photos. Dreamy!
Welcoming Details
The ceremony was moved indoors, because … Hail.
Not a bad Plan B.
The sun came out in time for the cocktail hour.
We took advantage of the break in the storm!
Uh -oh, things are starting to get a little wild again…
Making a break for it … Part Two
Classic, Elegant, and Fresh
Party Time
Surprise Sunset!
We had sun, then hail, then sun, then rain … and finally the perfect ending!
Belle Mer created Meredith and Evan’s cake.
Men in Black was the band. Looks like the guests are having a little bit of fun.
Now that’s how you pull off a classic Newport wedding at Belle Mer!
