Christiane + Bradley’s Newport Wedding, Castle Hill Inn

“It was a dark and stormy night…” ~ Edward Bulwer-Lytton

According to Wikipedia, Writer’s Digest described this sentence as the “literary poster child for bad story starters. On the other hand, the American Book Review ranked it as #22 on it’s “best first lines from novels list.” Well, since a consensus cannot be reached on the value of that sentence, let’s change it to suit Christie and Brad’s wedding day.

It was a dark and stormy afternoon that gave way to a spectacular one of a kind sunset at Castle Hill.” ~ Mariah Ashley

There, I like that better. Christie and Brad handled their foul weather, ceremony moved inside, formal photos in a cramped space scenario with grace and good cheer. The weather gods must have appreciated that because they stopped dumping rain on our heads just in time for the most AMAZING orange sky. We ran all around the property for 20 minutes snapping like crazy before the sun slipped below the horizon. It was a frenzy of photo fun! All the guest poured outside leaving warm dinners cooling at their place settings {much to the dismay of the diligent staff at Castle Hill}. Oh well, cool dinners and warm photos. I think it was worth it. {Sorry Jeremy}.

Christie has fabulous taste and designed an elegant 1930’s inspired soiree. Stoneblossom created the lush florals and Confectionery Design made the amazing gilded cake. Hair and makeup by the ever fabulous team at Jennie Kay.

Here’s that frenzy of photo fun I mentioned! Everyone wants in on some sunset photos! The more the merrier!
