Tuesdays with Trish: Trish’s Mom Gets Married

February 5, 2013

“I sustain myself with the love of family.” – Maya Angelou

We saved the best for last!

We have one more 2012 wedding to share with you. I hope that you’ll give me a pass for declaring this wedding as the BEST wedding of all because it is my mother’s wedding! It’s unusual for us to be in front of the camera, especially at a wedding. I got quite a perspective of what it feels like to be a part of the wedding and not actually taking any photos yourself. Mariah, Liz, and Jay were the official photographers. I could see that they were working hard, but I still had the feeling that they were’nt getting any good photos. It seemed like they had maybe taken 20 or so pictures and that they were all bad! Sometimes I find myself slightly offended at a wedding when a mother of the bride or another family member asks, “Are you getting any good photos?” because I know that I totally have it covered and that the end result is going to be great. But now I know what a blur it is when you are not part of the behind the camera process. You are just having a wonderful time and want that feeling to be preserved in the photos. The day my mother got married, she was absolutely glowing. My son was adorable. It was a happy day when two families became one. The joy was palpable. These are some of my favorite photos from the day. They mean the most to me because they show the emotion of how it felt and of the people I love.
