Jan and Irina wanted a romantic Newport engagement session with dramatic views of the Cliff Walk… which got me thinking…
The engagement session is by nature more posey than the wedding day photos. On the day of the wedding, your friends and family are around (so you feel more relaxed), there’s a lot of action happening (opportunities for candid photos), and of course there’s champagne (never a bad idea). However, when we do the engagement photos it’s just you and yours truly(s) so it’s a bit more staged. We used to try to hard to replicate the natural feeling of the wedding day but when you’re missing all those elements it can be hard to do.
Why not just go for something a little more posed (in a good way)?
This scenic spot is of the Cliff Walk is at the end of Ruggles. Irina and Jan are watching the surfers.
This spot never disappoints at the end of Ledge Road and for this shoot the waves were really crashing.
A quick outfit change and some photos on Bellevue Avenue.
Jan surprised us with that dip photo. 🙂 He’s got a few tricks up his sleeve.
Finishing off the session with a sparkly yellow diamond!
