Linden Place was the perfect venue for Kait and Brian’s Rhode Island engagement session. Winter can be a tricky time for portraits so it’s good to have an indoor plan. Kait is fond of all things vintage so Linden Place was a perfect fit. She also mentioned loving The Great Gatsby in our initial phone conversation. A scene from the Great Gatsby was actually shot at Linden Place. Kait and Brian fit right to their surroundings with their fabulous outfits. I love it when our clients really get into dressing for the occasion! Kait and Brian were a pleasure to photograph. They are funny, sweet and totally in love. We are so glad that they are our 41st client for 2014. We pledged to make a big charity donation when we passed our booking goal of 40, so we are donating their photography collection amount to Operation Smile! We had hoped that a really nice couple would come along and be our #41! We got our wish and then some. We can’t wait for Kait and Brian’s fabulous fall wedding!
It’s time for… Behind the Snaps!
We are personally drawn to classic photography, especially portraits. While at our photography convention in Phoenix we came across this classic portrait of JFK and Jackie-O and tucked it away for future inspiration. While photographing Kait and Brian we tried to recreate the portrait from memory because we were inspired by Kait’s little black dress and Brian’s tie. Not a bad interpretation of the original portrait by Richard Avedon!
