We met Martha and Brett on a Monday morning for their downtown Newport engagement session. Note to self: always shoot downtown on a Monday morning you’ll have the place to yourself. There were no hoards of tourists in ill fitting tshirts and no honking cars when we ask our couple to stand in the street. For a really Newport feeling we thought Bowen’s Wharf would afford us some “boaty” backdrops. We also really lucked out with all the blooming trees and daffodils in Queen Anne Square. Spring is so fabulous for engagement portraits!

Martha and Brett knew each other growing up and reconnected at a wedding two years ago to the day of our shoot. It just goes to show you how your life can change in such a short amount of time. I’m sure when they were stealing glances at each other across the dance floor they would never have guessed they’d be having their engagement portraits done exactly two years later. So romantic!

Thank you Brett for really “bringing it.”  Your photo moves are stellar! Picking Martha up, swing her around, sigh. The dip! The kiss! We are swooning. And Martha, thank you for having legs like you do and for being as sunshiney as your cute yellow skirt! Seriously, you two make the snappers look good!

Shooting their downtown Newport engagement session and getting to know them as they adorable couple they are was such a treat. We can’t wait for their beautiful Castle Hill wedding in 4 weeks! So looking forward to celebrating the union of this dynamic duo with their loving friends and families.
