Auld Lang Syne… a moving tune for sure though I’ve never been totally solid on the meaning, until now. According to the always reliable Wikipedia, “the song begins by posting a rhetorical question as to whether it is right that old times be forgotten, and is generally interpreted as a call to remember long-standing friendships.” Auld Lang Syne { a poem written in 1788} translates from Scottish to roughly mean, “for the sake of old times”.
So, for Auld Lang Syne, here’s our version of a toast to all the wonderful friends we made in 2013. Thank you for the honor in sharing your historical day with us! We may be moving into 2014, but 2013 will stay in our hearts. Cheers!
